With unique clubs ranging from “The Pokemon Club” and “Michigan Ice Carving” to the more traditional “Investment Club”, there is certainly something for everyone to join at Festifall. Instead of setting up a table like the 450 other organizations, the #UMSocial team decided to tackle Festifall a little differently. We covered the event and gave away free t-shirts through Snapchat, Twitter, and Instagram. In addition- prior to Festifall we made a Snapchat story which outlined the tips and tricks helpful to navigate Festifall found here.

We told our Instagram and Twitter followers to meet us in a very central location on campus- the flagpole. We were quickly bombarded by dozens of students, many of which only happened to be walking by and had no idea what UMSocial was. We were able to spread the word about all of our accounts, but we decided to keep the giveaway more exclusive to our dedicated fans. We then tweeted that a “secret location” would be announced via Snapchat where we waited for loyal tweeters and snappers.

In addition to t-shirt giveaways on Snapchat, we also featured many different student organizations’ tables. Students were super excited to be featured on our Snapchat, and a few organizations screenshotted and tweeted the picture we posted.

We also went to Go North! Fest where we made another Snapchat story of all of the organizations found there including the UM Solar Car. We also gave away t-shirts to a few lucky students who found our secret location- including Bubba!

Festifall and Go North! Fest were awesome opportunities to engage with students, give away some t-shirts, and spread the word about our accounts!
