Well hello there! I’m Connor Titsworth, and I am one-half of the new junior staff at UMSocial. I’m beyond excited to be joining the team and bringing you the best in social content. I will be working across all of our social platforms to inform, engage, and entertain the U-M community and beyond. Be sure to keep an eye out for my gifs, infographics, animations—and of course all the memes. I’m a proud alumnus of The University of Toledo with an individualized degree in Communications and Marketing. During my time at school I worked as a new-media intern for UTSocial (UT’s social media and video team). This internship really opened my eyes to the exciting world of social and digital production. I found so much satisfaction in creating fresh spins on social trends, using our platform to produce original content, and catering to an audience that was enthusiastic about the school and its culture. I so look forward to doing these same things here at the University of Michigan. I’m also very excited to be moving to the Ann Arbor area and can’t wait to spend some time in the city. The many restaurants and cafes downtown have already started calling my name. Outside work I love to read, write, watch whatever critically acclaimed show has climbed to the top of my Netflix queue, and run. I’m looking forward to hitting the trails at the local parks and catching whatever’s playing at the classic Michigan Theater. As much as I’m going to miss being close to my family and my dog, I can’t wait to see what abounding adventures await me at U-M!

Hello! My name is McKenna Whipple, and I am one of the two new junior staff members for U-M’s social team. As the newest “Social Media Specialist,” I will be assisting with all things social— from developing new and creative ideas to showcase on our many social platforms to working to leverage engagement within the campus community. As a recent graduate from Grand Valley State University with a BS in Communications and a minor in Advertising and Public Relations, I began my job hunt optimistic and excited to enter the “real world.” I had no idea what was to come, but was determined to make sure my first role would be memorable and, most of all, influential as I transitioned into my career. I never imagined I would be offered the opportunity to work at an institution I have loved, supported, and admired since I was a little girl. I am thrilled to begin working in a collaborative setting with individuals who are just as enthusiastic about social engagement as I am. A little bit more about me: I am an avid and dedicated sports fan, which I was able to fuel by playing four years of collegiate-level club volleyball for Grand Valley. So I am thrilled to now be involved in supporting my favorite team from a more behind-the-scenes perspective and to be a part of the U-M community as we enter football season. Ann Arbor is also a perfect place for us foodies, and my lunch breaks have been quite exciting. I have two dogs, Dexter and Koda, who are frequently arrayed in Michigan gear. I have always loved to sing, and I recently started learning how to play guitar; I’ve also started to study sign language. Finally, there is nothing I love more than spending time with my family and friends. I am so thankful for this opportunity and cannot wait to dive into my (already) hefty list of exciting tasks.
