The @UMichStudents Twitter and Instagram accounts provide a unique strategy and chance to focus on engaging students in peer-to-peer conversations while also highlighting scholarship, advocacy, events, community engagement projects, and more. This year, the @UMichStudents accounts have provided 42 student organizations with platforms to showcase their efforts.

In 2022, the @UMichStudents Instagram account reached 16,118 followers and hosted 29 takeovers. On the @UMichStudents Twitter account, there were 15 takeovers and the account reached 25,562 followers.

Throughout the year, conversations on these platforms created an impactful space for U-M students to discuss topics of activism and advocacy, diversity, equity and inclusion, sexual assault prevention and awareness, sustainability efforts, mental health, internship opportunities, life as a Wolverine, and more. These takeovers helped Wolverines remained informed about events, initiatives, and resources available to them.

From SAPAC to the Ford School and from Expect Respect to the Student Sustainability Coalition, numerous organizations and departments conducted takeovers in 2022. Throughout the week each group posted to the accounts, they utilized photos, videos, and graphics to garner engagement from their peers and highlight their respective areas.

Overall, the @UMichStudents social media accounts give our Wolverines a chance to show they are the Leaders and Best in unique and engaging ways.
