Instagram has been one of the most impactful ways we connect with Wolverines and it is where we saw our biggest growth this year. UMSocial’s content on Instagram earned over 72,000,000 impressions in 2023, a 77% increase from the previous year, while also totaling over 1,500,000 engagements. The U-M Instagram account also reached over 400,000 followers in 2023. Our content strategy on the platform, through both standard posts and Instagram reels, is to bring the Wolverine experience to life in a way that fosters connectedness between current U-M students, faculty, staff, alums, and fans. Seasonal campus imagery, along with Reels and photos surrounding marquee moments throughout the year, saw significant success with our wide-ranging audience on the platform.
